Statement of Faith

These statements of truth are set forth in an effort to express those principles that are essential to a full-gospel ministry.
                    1.  Inspired Scriptures
All Scripture (Old and New Testaments) is divinely inspired of God; and is the only authority of faith and Godly conduct. 2 Tim. 3:15-17.
                    2.  God
There is one true and living God, the Creator of all things, All knowing, Eternal Love, the Redeemer of mankind.  He has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.  St. John 1:1-14.
                    3.  The Trinity
We may scripturally speak of the God of heaven as a trinity, though He is One Lord.  God has revealed Himself in three distinct personal attributes and yet absolutely unified into One.  St. John 1:1-14.
4.  Deity of The Lord Jesus Christ
The Word of God explicitly declares:
a)  His virgin birth - Matt. 1:23
b)  His sinless life - Heb. 7:26
c)  His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross - I Cor. 15:3
d)  His bodily resurrection from the dead - Matt. 28:6, I Cor. 15:4
e)  His place at the right hand of God - Acts 2:33
5.  The Fall of Man
God created man good and free of any evil.  However, man of his own choice transgressed the will and command of God; thereby inheriting the nature of sin which results in physical death as well as spiritual death (separation from God)
          6.  The Salvation of Man
Man can now only be redeemed through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  This salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ, being justified by grace through faith.  Roman 10:9-15.
The inward witness of the Spirit and the outward witness of a holy and righteous life are the evidences of salvation.  Romans 8:16, Eph. 4:24.
                    7.  Ordinances of the Church
  1. Water Baptism - Baptism in water by immersion is commanded in the scriptures.  Baptism symbolizes that the ‘born again’ person has died with Christ and has been raised with Him in newness of life.  Matt. 28:19, Romans 6:4.
  2. The Lord’s Supper - Consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine (non-alcoholic), expresses our sharing the divine nature of the Lord. 2 Peter 1:4.  All believers are to share in this memorial until the return of our Lord.  As we partake in Holy Communion, we remember His suffering and death. I Cor. 11:26.
                    8.  The Baptism With the Holy Ghost
This being the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church, should be experienced by all in the body of Christ today.  With the baptism with the Holy Spirit comes a deeper reverence of God, an overflowing fullness of the Spirit, endowment of power for life and service; a greater love for the mighty things of God.  I Cor. 12:1-31, Acts 2:43, Acts 8:12-17, Acts 2:42, John 7:37-39.

9.  Speaking with other Tongues
The physical sign of speaking with other tongues is the evidence of the baptism of believers with the Holy Ghost.  This tongues is the same as the gift of tongues, however, different in purpose and in use.  Acts 2:4, I Cor. 12:4-10 and 28.
10.  Sanctification
Sanctification is the act of separating from evil, sin and the lusts of the world.  In identifying with Christ and exercising faith in His sacrificial death and resurrection, the believer’s sanctification becomes a reality to him.  Heb. 12:14, Gal. 2:20.
                    11.  The Church of the Lord Jesus
Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, His body, and is its source of authority and power.  Each person who has been born of the Spirit is an important part of the church of God.  The church has as its divine mission the command of the Lord Jesus Christ to take the Gospel to all the world, and to make disciples of all nations. Eph. 1:22, Heb. 12:23, Matt. 28:19-20.
The church is established to evangelize the world, worship God, and edify the body of saints. Eph. 4:11-16, John 4:23-24, Mark 16:15-20.

                    12.  Divine Healing
Perfect health is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.  Divine healing is part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:14-16.
                    13.  The Resurrection
The dead in Christ will rise first and then those of us who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  This is the precious hope of the church. I Thess. 4:16-17.
                    14. The Millennial
This is the time that Christ will visibly return with His saints to reign on the earth for one thousand years.  There will be universal peace at this time. Zech. 14:5, Rev. 20:1-6, Isa 11:6-9.
15.  The Judgement
Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life shall go to everlasting punishment and torment; while the righteous shall enter into everlasting life and peace.  Rev. 19 and 20.
                    16.  Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.  These two distinct, complimentary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.)
We believe rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one genetic male and one genetic female in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25.)  We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4.)  We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God.  (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10.)
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l, Inc. as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l  members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l, Inc. in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess. 5:22.)
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:9-11.)
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31.) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the organization.
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs.  The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.  For purposes of ‘Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l, Inc.’ faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our President/Board of Directors is Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l’ final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
          17.  Code of Christian Conduct
Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l, Inc. maintains for its Code of Christian
 Conduct the following standards:
  1.  Dressing in conformance with one’s biological sex
  2. Using the restrooms, locker rooms and changing facilities conforming with one’s biological sex; and
  3. Abstaining from all the intimate sexual conduct outside the marital union of one man and one woman (as stated in the statement on marriage, gender, and sexuality).
Behaviors such as cheating, stealing, adultery and disrespect of authority are outside the disciplines of upstanding religious character as taught in the Holy Bible and should not be participated.  Failure to comply with expected standards of religious character will subject the student, member, disciple, mentee or employee to potential disciplinary action up to and including expulsion or dismissal.
The desire of Jesus People Living Word Church Int’l, Inc. is to associate with likeminded people who will further the organization’s faith based purpose and beliefs.
